LinkedIn doesn’t let you boost certification posts because they’re treated as a special system‑generated format, not a standard ad‑eligible post type like text, single‑image, or video updates. Boosting is designed for more general awareness content and thought‑leadership posts, so LinkedIn restricts it to specific formats that fit its advertising and reporting framework and exclude things like reposts, group posts, and other niche or auto‑generated items. Certification posts usually fall into those “non‑standard” buckets, which means they can appear in the feed organically but can’t be turned into paid promotion through the Boost button, even if they’re public and perform well
